I would fully agree - paranoia abounds. But for some good reason - people have been stolen from in various fashions by people who come here, pretending to be someone else. Some have even made 2 or 3 accounts, just so they can "talk" to themselves. To make themselves feel better.
The prices: Some of us have watched

prices go up and down. And the longer you watch, you develop an idea of what the average selling/buying price of that type of item is. Some people want a good deal and will wait for one(cat& mouse), others want to get it NOW and will pay much more for that small enjoyment. And the same hold true for a seller and their motivations - money now or [maybe] more money later.
I think
J Thomas has left the building, or at least this thread....so why don't you come out and learn a little more about the watches? Understanding the underlying technology is great, but sometimes you just need some practical, mechanical suggestions. And the methods used within the circuits are very different between manufacturers. Interesting if only for your greater edification(knowledge).
