As a "rare occasion" smoker, never in the house or car, I understand the ire of receiving an item that smells strongly of smoke. I occasionally receive something that smells so bad I have to wipe all surfaces with a rag with detergent, then put in a sealed container with a few handfuls of activated charcoal. And wait a few weeks. Febreeze spray, airing out in the sun, all sorts of things can be tried. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) doesn't seem to do much against smoke smells.

Plastic bubble is the worse smoke magnet I believe - If you are a smoker who reuses packaging materials, I would suggest you store your spare materials in a heavy-duty large plastic bag, sealed tightly.

I stored the box in a room where i dont smoke since like 7 years. If it smelled like smoke then prolly also when i bought it originally.

I tried to smell it myself, sniffing at it like a flower. I couldn't smell anything. But yeah some armed militant non-smokers might be so sensible they can smell smoke through 5 solid brick walls i guess.

I never had any buyer complain about 'smells like smoke before.

Hey, maybe the smell was just their excuse. But you see it mentioned in enough ebay listings, that it is a known effect, "comes from a smoke-free home". Most old watch boxes smell like something. Occasionally there will be a package that my dogs smell something on, and they keep trying to chew it. Bad dog! !@@!

I just opened a box that came in the mail. Oh my, I feel like I should take this bubble wrap on a date - smells really good. Probably sent by a woman that looks like this

Yeah i guess it was more of an excuse. Maybe as he saw he bid over 1000 USD and then realized that there are 4 HP01 on ebay that actually cost less.

And keep that bubble wrapper! Whenever you feel down you can smell on it and be like 'Oh yeah it could be MUCH worse...'

Oh, I don't suffer much. It's usually "much better"...the wife (pic is maybe 5 years old...DDs would be quite visible if she was standing up.) She's "frisky" and well-employed($70k+)...what's to complain about?

Believe me, her collection of LEDs pretty much rivals yours Mike  , albiet in ladies sizing.

2 different styles of Ladies Touch Commands (Pulsar).
1 Ladies Cushion (Pulsar)
1 Men's Green Dress (Pulsar), in g/f case on tapered crocodile band.
Various ladies pendant type LEDs.
A Very nice touch type Collins.
Two different curved case ladies, with the Sanyo movement, which are basically a P4 circuit without flick-wrist.
Bulova Ladies Bangle Driver.
And a selection of analogs.

Nice.

My wife's LED collection isn't too shabby either:
1) Bulova Big Block Stainless (wears when playing roller derby)
2) Pulsar P3 Stainless
3) Pulsar P4 Dress Stainless
4) Pulsar P4 Ladies Oval Stainless
5) Pulsar P4 Big Block, flaky module, works sometimes
6) Hamilton QED IV
7) Hamilton QED I Stainless
8) TI Ladies Bangle LED
9) LIP Mach 2000 Retro (blue)
10) LIP Mach 2000 Retro (red)
11) Pulsar Ladies Touch Cushion
12) Bulova Drivers Sideview Stainless
13) Commodore LED
14) Novus Ladies Wardrobe Watch, with interchangeable shells
15) Hamilton LCQ (LCD)
as well as a few vintage analogs, an Accutron, and odds and ends.

Hey, wait a minute, I think her collection's bigger than mine. How did that happen? Is that what usually happens?

My wife has a new night-vision rifle scope, but kindly she lets me mount the scope on my crossbow. I'll have to take a picture of the red laser pointer on a foggy morning - almost as cool as Bruce's green lasers. But probably not as dangerous. :-) The plan is to bolt (crossbow arrow)coyotes by moonlight.

 Of that I have no doubt! The list you provided isn't bad, but I have a few nices ones (Hamiltion QED in gold and SS, National Semi, etc.) that aren't in her collection. But being married to you means she basically has access to ALL the LED watches in the house. Uh, except for the repair orders. However..... having them in a collection is one thing and
wearing them is something else. ( I'm sure she wears them as the mood sutis her, I'm just razzin' you a little. ;-) )
