Pitfalls of buying a dead synchronar

I've mentioned this before in the synch forum. Someone has been hacking (for want of a better word) a groove down the middle of dead sunwatch modules to make them fit into a mark 3 case to sell as a complete boxed watch (and it sure doesn't look nice...)

At least in this auction you can see the damage clearly (unlike the one I stupidly bought... )

Wow we it is taken me almost 4 years to realize Digibloke is really far out.This watch is being re sold using the same text by who?? the seller right?.You should have returned it Javier/modernwatches guy in Spain whatever.You messed me up in the past with paypal Christmas 2006 and i wanted to make good leaving a great condition GP"no gouge mark" original Synchronar module in the hands of the seller because i predicted you would complain,you had a chance to complain and get something but decided to re sell instead with same text and now complain>> get a life.

You should have known better to waste a grand or or more buying non working scrappers instead of a RWR LE from me that you had no patience (less than 2 weeks) on.Thats why you or your chumsies never bought or planned on buying a Riehl Synchronar in it's whole history,only gossiped about it or bought into a cheap knock off from Phil and promoting him.All durring missing out on a Riehl Synchronar.

Hey Howard. I really have no idea what you're on about.

1) This isn't my auction. I'm keeping my broken watch. I have never ever had any synchronar dealings with you.

2) My watch cost 250 dollars not a grand and it's the only none working synch I've ever bought. It came from the US, not Spain.

3) I have never messed you or anyone else about with PayPal. I've only ever bought 1 thing from you - 4 empty Trafalgar LED cases. I paid instantly then you took three weeks to ship them - you got your positive feedback and everyone was happy. Check your own feedback - I think you must have me mixed up with someone else

4) I'm not into gossiping and have nothing to do with Phil - The only reason I made that post is because I wouldn't want anyone else to spend 250 dollars on a watch with a hole cut into the top.

Digi, did you buy your's off the same seller as that hack job. He's beginning to look less than honest. Mind you, I've bought off him with no problems in the past (amida, no surprises from that seller...)

The guy thats running this auction didn't do the hack job - he bought this from the same seller in the States that I bought mine from (with the same blurry pictures). There's nothing wrong with this seller - he's got good feedback and makes it clear that the watch isn't in good shape.

I'm not trying to place any blame or harm any reputations here - I'm just advising people to watch out for similar damage to lexan case tops before hitting the buy it now button.

Digibloke if you are saying you bought one with a gouge in it i am sorry to hear that.The way your first post was interpreted by me was that you were selling it with better pictures.It is news to me and worth reporting if there is more than one like this.
I really have nothing to do with those sales but kayman88 has helped me get Paypal payments and when i went to see him one day he showed me the one he was selling for Roger Jr(the one currently being re sold by modernwatches in Spain,not you) and i was shocked enough to give him a decent looking one in case the buyer complained.I don't like to see anyone pay $250 for one like that.
Digibloke I did not know you were the guy that bought the Trafalgar cases from me.They were certainly shipped out sooner than 3 weeks.It was under $200 transaction so it went out Priority mail and may have been in the system or at customs a week or two before it was delivered to you.

Anyhow sorry for the confusion Digi. There are some guys who have spent thousands on non workers and still have nothing working.If someone insists on buying a non worker i have them at a reasonable price with no gouge in center groove,better case etc.

sunwatch to synchronar, i was wondering that myself. if one could do this cleanly and skillfully, is there any reason that a working sunwatch module could not be used to replace a non-working synchronar module. is there a difference in the module itself. it is for sure a very poor job on the one you got. i am always very leery of pictures that are blurry and cannot be enlarged. i was going to go after the mkIII geoff just got, but i only wanted it for the case and bracelet. i think he got a good deal on it even if it is not working. hopefully the inside is not kaput! newbie and not electronic but a watch geek nontheless, peter
