Ebay started off as a good thing but it is now too expensive, IMO the people who run it are getting very greedy, I hope that sellers take their business elsewhere - it would serve them right.

Their fees are already ridiculous they make me :~#

I sold a pair of speakers recently for £580 and they took just over £12 for the final value fee, I just sold a Pulsar for £410 and they took over £22 :o Why are they penalising watch sellers :-?

Think yourself lucky! With today's new flat rate of 10% (on ebay.co.uk) you would now be paying £58 and £41 as final value fees on those sales.

We need a rival company to come along and do some major advertising, eBay has it all their own way for far too long, just like their other company, Paypal, also needs some rivalry, they have the online payment market sewn up too

Are you sure about this 10% flat rate? I've looked on eBay and can't find any info.

10% final value fees eh, well I was thinking about this the other day I remember a few years back when sellers used to ask for an extra 5% for paying by Paypal it seems only fair that the buyer should cover some of the cost of a sellers fees as they only pay for the cost of the item and the shipping then leave the poor seller to take a hit with all the listing and final value fees which could add up to a considerable amount when selling high value items such as LED watches.

I know what the reaction of the buyers would be I wouldn't like much it myself but if Ebay keeps going the way it is more and more sellers will abandon them thus they will keep hiking the fees to maintain their profit levels, a full scale boycott of Ebay is needed on mass to show them the people that sell goods on their site wield all the power and without them Ebay is nothing, as the old saying goes "a little revolution now and then is a healthy thing"

Greedy bastids the lot of them...

There are a couple of alternative on-line auction sites although obviously they are currently not operating on the same scale as eBay, ebid looks to be about the best of the rest to me.
