This popped up yesterday. It looks NOS or mint in the photos. The band doesn't even look worn. I'm very tempted to take a chance but in the back of my mind I remember reading on here that the Zeniths often break with little chance of repair. Also, the shipping from Turkey is a little high.

Did anyone ever notice the number of NOS watches they still have in Europe?

They do have some dismal design features - poor protection from battery leakage, crude(IMO) motor for analogue portion, also poorly sealed. All that trouble for the little two character LED section strapped to an analogue......delightful [primarily ] in it's eccentricity.

True, it's only two digits in LCD but I DO like the case design. It's different. It's futuristic in a 70s kind of way. But, I suppose there are other cool futuristic 70s watches I could buy without the potential headaches.

I would agree it is a nice looking watch - many of the most problematic pieces are . Heuer CHronsplit is a nice looking watch too. But the multi-part circuit board, bridged with multiple zebra strips......oy vay

Yeah the Heuer is nice looking, too... but the Zenith is a little more affordable.

Still considering the Zenith... with any luck I will think about it until someone else grabs it. Then I won't have to worry about it. :)

But then what if it really works... then I have a very nice working Zenith Time Command!

The module looks nice and clean.
I've never seen this version for sale.
The Zeniths often suffer from wirebond problems at the LEDs, segments either dim or not workling at all. Virtually unrepairable.

Well, unfortunately (or luckily depending on perspective ) it sold for the BIN price of $175. I didn't think that that auction would make it through the day. Oh well.

Just to chime in...
I met a guy last week that told me a story of a large amount of these he purchased. He exclaimed they were from a car dealership that never gave them away back when they were new (Buy a car, get this watch for free!). A few of these that he and his business partner have got working out of the large amount they purchased have made their way to eBay.
I have the guys number if you would like to speak directly to him, but he has no intent to sell the non workers for parts. He wants approx. $900.00 a piece for any workers they get going. (Ridiculous!) He exclaimed that he has had winning bid amounts close to what hes asking from Japan buyers with deep pockets. Don't know for sure, but thats what he said.

Watch the seller's feedback. If he gets or leaves a feedback for this auction you can see the buyer's name - then contact the buyer and ask.

$175 was much more affordable. Now I regret not jumping on it. I will have to find a different purchase to make me forget about it.

However, Bucko, please keep us informed if you find out whether it works or not. That way if it DOES work I can really feel bad about not buying it.

I would prefer a newer style at lower cost than take a chance with the Zenith.

Now, if only the Marc Ecko guts would fit in the Zenith case - not likely. The "rub" - the Zenith is a sleek, slick, medium sized piece. The Marc Ecko is a "Tank" in comparison. I bet the case alone weighs twice what an entire Zenith weighs. But at $59, what the heck. And the LED display is 4 character and colon!

Hey I kind of like the Marc Ecko except for the name and the emblem. I wonder how difficult it would be to mod the case and dial. It could be an interesting watch.

I have to say I love the look of that Zenith.
Its one I'd happily look out for now myself.

$900 ain't happening tho thats for sure.

I agree watches are meant for wearing, I wear all mine, picking what I fancy on the day.

I would keep an eye out on eBay you should be able to pick up a nice Bulova drivers watch within your budget.
