eBay search issues...

Post22 Apr 2013, 23:13

The last year or two, I've experienced quite a few situations where I search for something on eBay, and simply get no results, even if I know the items are there. Couple of years ago I did not have any problems, but now... :bang:

Like this one. I found a Casio 52QS-14, and wanted to see if there were any others, or if there had been any sold recently. So I made a search. I cannot explain the results... I know the watches are there, which you can see on the side in my 'recently viewed items'. Items was available in the same country I made the serch from...

Here are the watches:

Anyone have an explanation?

Is it country specific. I know the two you found are in the UK.

You are correct! 8-) Now I got them in the results list on the UK site...

But... On .uk you get international entries at the bottom of the results list, and you can also specify worldwide search to get all international items included in the results list.

on .com you don't get the international results at the bottom, and you can not specify worldwide results... And they don't show up even if items have worldwide shipping specified...

I found that Location on the advanced search have the settings for location, but it's not checked on.

If you also click the link 'learn more', you get an explanation that does not support the result I get, not including the items from UK......

I recognize the UK site design being older than .com, from when .com behaved better.

...Or is it only me...

There is definitely something wrong with the search engine as I had the same issue many times.
Items found earlier were not shown a week later in completed auctions search.
Also when I search for a few phrases separated by commas I find nothing but when I search the words separately one by one...I find items
