G'day!

Post06 Jan 2012, 00:25

Hello digital watch people!
I am Michel, electronics & software engineer, living in OZ coming from the Netherlands. Been obsessed by watches and clocks since I was like 4 years old. A couple of years ago I designed the first electronic domino clock and I am now in the final stages of completing my domino wrist watch. Other projects in my mind are an open source OLED watch module, a cool nixie watch with decent battery life and a new style domino clock.
Well, talk to you later!

Well, I've been busy doing other things so I couldn't really pick up my watch/clock hobby until recently.

The pong clock / pong watch will be part of the open source OLED watch module, it will have inputs for 2 external potentiometers so that you can play a real pong game on the watch. Sure with a bit of creativity, other games can also be programmed. I want to use a 128x64 pixel white OLED module, probably the 0.96" model, maybe a size bigger. The module will be designed specifically for use in watches, which means it will have a decent battery life (say at least 1 year). A white OLED module so that you can choose any colour for the lens.

Ben vaak op de vogeltjes markt geweest in Antwerp :-)

Great clocks those domino's, you did a wonderful job.
So are you selling these clocks watches, you sure gained my interest.

Ik kom af en toe nog wel eens op de duivenmarkt in Lier.
But it's a long drive from Stiens. :-D
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
The reason i collect watches is because it feels like i'm buying time.

Yes, the watch will be available for sale. I try to get into contact with domino tournament organizations and clubs. Mainly in the US as domino is still very popular there.

The clock as in the video is not for sale, I only made one as it was way too much work to make it :-). The type 2 domino clock will be for sale, it will have 3 separate domino tiles for hours, minutes, seconds. Not sure yet what size to choose for the tiles, another dutch guy suggested to use the standard 2" x 1" domino tile. For myself I like a big clock with 200mm x 100mm tiles.
