TC2 Box...???

Post08 Jan 2010, 03:11

I'am needing some help lads as I 'am looking for an Omega box for my TC2, can anyone please post a picture of the original supplied box as I don't know what to look for.

Out of curiosity I went into an Jewellers who stocks Omega watches and asked if they could order me an genuine Omega box interestingly they said yes but only if you have a genuine Omega watch so I produced the TC2 much to the enjoyment of a young salesman who said he'd never seen a LED Omega before. The box they could order is the same type as this - CLICK - would this be acceptable to keep a LED Omega in.

One last thing I need to remove a link in the bracelet how is it done please I don't want to go hacking in there in case I scratch the bracelet.

Cheers...

Hi Klippie.
As far as I know, the TC2 came in a box like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-OMEGA-GENTS ... 2304c0690d

I think it's a reasonably common box, that the analogues came in as well.
If you find any cheap, get me one too  .
You haven't got a spare glass timescreen have you ?
Rgds,
Andrew.

hi klippie,
on mine, each link is held in by 2 small springbars, release them and the link can be removed.
regards.

on the box, IMHO the modern one looks, well, too modern for the tc2...

That's the right one, sure enough. But don't hold your breath waiting for one to show up online. They were all over eBay about a year ago, now they're appearing maybe once a month...and not cheap [last one I saw was a BIN for $200, 125 pounds, actually, and it did eventually sell]. Ebay UK is more of a hot-spot for these, which makes sense, since the watches were sold mostly in Europe. Good luck, but be warned...I'm still looking for a couple more of these myself. ;-)

Sorry but I don't have a spare crystal not even a rough one, did you not see the NOS Omega crystal on Ebay - CLICK - the seller has recently sold two of them pricey though...

Thanks for the heads-up on the prices Bruce thats a lot but I think I'd rather put money like that into finding a module before buying a box....but who knows, plus I'am not in the same league as you when it comes to a bidding war... ~:(

Cheers everyone...

Yes, I saw them, but I don't want to spend that much dough on a watch I'm going to be wearing. I'm also not sure of the "origins" of these crystals. I don't want to pay all that money for the logo to wipe off after a few days of wear ! I'm not saying these are dodgy, I just don't know.......

Regarding your bracelet, the Hamilton LEDs have links that are basically the same. You might want to practice on one of these if you've got an old one lying around.

These crystals were legit...bought some from him a couple years ago. Still in original factory packages, fired-on logos, absolutely real and genuine. Never thought I'd see them get this expensive, though [and people thought I was crazy to pay $60-70 apiece for them...at least I get the last laugh on that!]. About a year ago, another seller was letting them go, BIN, for $90, and went begging [also genuine]. One important thing I've learned in this crazy business; if you see something rare, going cheap, buy one [or two, or however many are available or you can afford]. They can always be re-sold at a profit or traded for things of equal or greater value. I've got about a dozen spares for my present and future Omegas, and they're not going anywhere any time soon...better than money in the bank...
