I would like to add photo's to the photo gallery but when I tried an upload I got the error message below

"File Name/URL Error Message JPG Exceeded filesize permitted by CPG"

Obviously the file size is too large - but I don't know how to reduce it, any tips?

I usually use the regular "paint" program that comes with most all "Windows" Operating System to do my resizing. Right click image, and choose edit, or if you are using a newer Windows OS...You can right click, "open with": then "Paint" (you could also access your "Paint Program", and then choose a file to open from drop down menu ...I find it easy to start with the image, and then go into "Paint".
Up at the top of Paint menu, you will see "IMAGE"...Scroll that menu down, and choose "Stretch/Skew". Then you should see Horizontal: 100%, and Vertical 100%...Just reduce the number of both to exact same number but lower than 100% to reduce the image size (50% in both fields should reduce your image size in half). Then you can go to file, and "Save As"...rename, or replace the old image to save.
This is most likely more info than you were looking for, but maybe it could help others with the need to do basic editing. ;-)
Good Luck!

Thank you....... sounds easy enough I shall give it a whirl!

UPDATE:: Success, one photograph added, it's easy when you know how!

Does 'paint' have any other useful features?

Just noticed that if I open 'paint' and then use 'paint from' to import the photograph using Stretch/Skew makes the photograph shrink into the top corner - so you get the effect of having a small picture on a big page (if you know what I mean) but if you begin by opening the photograph using 'paint' Stretch/Skew then reduces the whole image in size as desired and you do not end up with just a small picture on a big page.

If you play around with paint for awhile...You'll get better, and better at it.
I think its a nice and easy fun program to do simple editing.
I most often use paint to add text to pictures.
Show us some of your work when you get good at it ;-)
Here is a picture that I just enhanced in size by using that dotted line square selection from sidebar menu, and left click/hold dragged into selection the image, then moved it up to top left corner...This works well with taking small items in large pictures to enhance the look, or appearance because image remains the same size, but is now the main picture.

Nice photograph!
I am going to add some photographs to the gallery so I will get plenty of chance to have a play, I didn't realize that you could use 'paint' in that way
