Early Longines with Ford logo

I just traded this early Longines LCD.
Can anyone give me any information on it. Date etc. At the moment it doesnt function as the colons flash(I'll put a post in the tech area for that).
It also has a Ford logo engraved on the back, could it be for long service or did ford have a connection with Longines at any point in the early seventies.

Hi DWL,
I think the problem is actually with the Ford logo on the back. You know what Ford means, don't you? :
Fix Or Repair Daily.... you should have bought one with a Chevy logo or better yet a Honda logo on the back.

The SSS5437 oscillator chip is date coded as week 36 of 1974 so the watch was probably made at the end of 1974, beginning 1975. The main timekeeping chip is almost certainly one of SSSs- they were derived from the Intel designed 5201/2 and quite possibly have a "hold" mode (like the parent chip) you have to release the watch from to get it to run- does the watch set OK?

At the moment all that happens is the colon flashes. I get no response from the top button. The bottom button increments the minutes.
