0532 versu 0534

Post01 Apr 2014, 04:02

Are these LCD panels interchangeable?

They appear to do exactly the same display except for the highlighted seconds counter.

Any thoughts?

Hello Geoff,

I don't mean to bother you with an off-the-subject response, but I think the 0533 looks the same as the 0532, but the seconds counter on the 0533 LCD panel has a "border" frame for some reason. I actually own an 0533 (which I have been told are rare), but mine has the LCD panel of a 0532, and simply because it may have worked as an adequate replacement. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Patrick!

Check out this link on th 0532 manual. It also includes the 0534. You can see the three shapes of the LCD panel. Two for the 34 and one for the 32.

It doesn't mention the 0533.

Yes, I have two 532s without the border and a 0534 with a border but shaped like the 0532 from the PDF file. I am thinking different production runs for the border versus case specific.

Cheers,

Geoff

P.s Did you get the stem to fit on your 0533?

Hi Geoff,

Yes, I got the stem to fit in my 0533 module. I bought a new stem from Jules Borel, and files it down to size. Later, I found that the problem was not with the stem, but instead with the module, as the light function was not working correctly when the stem was depressed against the IC board.

Anyway, than you sir.
