Website request: Pointing noob in the right direction

Post19 Jan 2007, 20:49

Hello,

First post in this interesting forum. I thought I knew something about digital watches, but after reading various posts, it seems not much other than having worn some!

I'm in my mid 30s, so I got to wear quite a few LCDs (no LEDs, I'm afraid). A shame I have but only one of those LCDs left - a Casio Dictionary (TE-2500).

Instead of going the modern route, I'd like to get one or two vintage (preferably NOS) Seikos, Casios, or other. Do you have links to any reputable online sellers? I'd avoid the eBay route if possible...

Do you have any links of vintage parts/supplies?

Also, any other links (reference or other) I should bookmark?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome,

I second that. Ed is 100% honest.

Also try a new member here - Greg has some lcd pulsars for sale - real ones form the 70's not the later ones. A steal at this price. Follow this.

Try majestyk on ebay (mj on this forum) he may be able to point something your way. Or try this one.

Good luck and never hesitate to ask about something - we are proud of the fact that we don't shoot noobies down for asking obvious questions 8)

I second grabbing one of Greg's Pulsars, if you like the look(some don't, I thought it was wonderful). Greg's pieces are a steal, and truely are a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'll be honest, I bought a couple from Greg so I can dole them out over the next few years. Some collector will be really happy 3-4 years from now.

I have an Orient Chrono LCD, made by Seiko. It's from 1979 and a very nice looking watch with a blue face. It's in excellent condition. If you're interested, send me a PM. I might actually auction it this week.
