This is Omega's very first lcd watch from about 1976.
It displays hours, minutes seconds date and dow and has a very bright light.
The watch takes 2 392 batteries.
I have one and it's very comfortable to wear.
Value? not very collectable for an Omega, i estimate it's value between 100 and 200 USD, with box and papers a bit more.

Thanx for information. I've got it - and it's in excelent shape. Got it for 100 EURO. With original bracelet. No papers / box.

BUT - when I opened it for replacing the batteries - is says Omega cal 1615 and not 1616. I guess that's the early cal.

And the Serial no. 37.452.489 indicates from Omega lists that 37.xxx.xxx is year 1973. ????

Have you any comments on that?

kind regards

This is mine, i don't think Omega made lcd's in 1973, but i'm not sure...
Mine has a 1978 date-code.

Hi -

if you look at the se.no table at the site you posted: 37.xxx.xxx does'n exist ??? If you look at the official omega list 37.xxx.xxx is listed under 1973 as production date.
Could anyone else fill in ?

Cal 1615 is listed as cal prior to 1616 - so they might produced it in 1973 - but I don't know.

Bracelet no. ST.1285.252 and 42 in a circle - is that correct?

By the way - I have another topic posted: I'm restoring a sensorquartz - and I'm doing OK with the case - but I need to remove the crystal. Do you know how? Is it glued to the steel ?
Thanx

I've have never seen an Omega LCD module, but judging by the way it's made, the electronics on the picture look too modern for '73, more like '76 or later.

Rewolf has a point - the electronics look a bit tidy for 73, even for Omega. Other possibilties: the back was switched; those cases or backs were "repurposed" at the factory. And of course, Omega's information may be incorrect,,,many have complained that they seem to want to deny they ever made LEDs or LCDs in the '70s. :?
