Optel Quartz Segtronic with probs

Post06 Aug 2007, 13:21

Hi. I got one of these last week...

http://www.ledwatches.net/photo-pages/segtronic1.htm

Lovely watch but it's being a pain. Any attempt to set it puts it into the none running mode (it'll set but time doesn't change). If I remove the battery and leave it for a while then start it up again (with the stem in the run position) it starts running at 12:00 then stops at 12:03. Every single time. Any movement of the stem whilst it's doing it's 3 minutes of running stops it until the battery is removed.

I've checked and cleaned the microscopic setting gears and contacts on the stem and they look fine but other than that I've run out of ideas.

Any comments/inspiration etc would be much appreciated.

(good job I didn't spend two evenings repairing the broken display before realising it had this problem - doh!)

hey,
these watches have many issues.
try to run the module out of the case and try your luck.
it might be the IC but also others I'm not even aware of.
