Original LCD Waterproof Runners Watch???

Post10 Jan 2009, 12:22

During the 1970's Runner's World ran a Sharper Image advertisement offering "The Chronograph that Plunges into Chilly Salt Water every Day - and Survives". It was a waterproof (to 100 feet), stainless steel case/band LCD Chronograph with a mineral glass face and, to my knowledge, the first available LCD "runner's watch offering "laps" display with a 60 minute stopwatch. I'm unable to find any information on this watch ANYWHERE (even Sharper Image). I have two "Realtime" watches, one the "original" LC Chronograph and a later model the "Chrono Alarm" with updated features and a "loud" alarm. I used both for years before Casio or Timex developed their own "Runner's Watch". Both are in excellent condition and run perfectly I'm interested to know if they are worth anything as "vintage" LCD watches and, moreover, if anyone other than myself has ever heard of them. I can provide photos of both the magazine advertisement and the watches.[/url]
