Howdy folks,

I am new to the club, and I am excited about seeing what comes through with regards to vintage LCD watches. Currently I have just two vintage LCD Watches, an A 039 Seiko, and then a later Seiko, both in near mint condition. I look forward to enjoying this new hobby. :-D

Hi Greg,
Welcome to the forum, I have been a member here for a year or so and I have found the forum the perfect place for the digital watch hobbyist. There are some really knowledgeable members here who provide an invaluable source of information and who are always happy to offer help and advise.

If it is digital watches you like you will be in good company here :-D

How about sharing a photo or two of your watches.

Regards
Mick.

Dear Mick,

Thank you for your message, and your personal "welcome" to the site. I hope to contribute the site, as well as learn something along the way. With so many folks on the site with the knowledge they posses, I am sure I will learn a thing or two.

I tried to attached two photos of my "small" collection, just two watches, but I am having problems doing so. I am on a Mac system. Any suggestions?

Thanks again Mick. Hope to hear from you again real soon.

Sincerely,

Greg

Hi Greg and Welcome,
I collect LED watches (hence my screen name) but I also love old Seiko LCD's and have a decent collection growing. I look forward to seeing your pics when you get them posted. (I don't have a Mac so I can't help you there....) I have several of my Seiko's posted in the "this watch I'm wearing" threads if you are interested.

I use either Image shack or photobucket to upload my photographs.

For Image shack when making a post there is a link at the bottom of each text box which takes you to Image shack, all you do is select the required image or photograph by using the 'browse' button and upload it by pressing the 'host it' button, once uploaded copy 'thumbnail for forum #1 and paste it onto the thread.

For photobucket once registered the procedure is very similar upload the image and cut and paste the 'img' code onto the thread.

I have noticed that using the link to Image shack adds another procedure onto the process (you have to upload the image twice) I find it quicker to go directly to Image shack without using the link.

Although I have not tried it I would of thought both Image shack and photobucket would work with the Mac, my son has a Mac that I can borrow so I will give it a go later today.

Okay, lets see if this photo shows up:

Nope, that did not work! I think its a Mac issue. ImageSha is still loading in the background for the last 10 minutes.

Hi Greg,
Uploaded this photo via imageshack using my son's Mac (that is why it is not a watch picture.)

Image

1. Click browse.
2. Select photo or image by double clicking on image/photo, this should make text appear in the space at the side of the browse button.
3. Click 'host it'
4. Highlight text 'thumbnail for forum (1)
5. Copy (cmd and c) and paste (cmd and v) into thread.

I found it a much faster process with the Mac than with my Dell PC!
The upload does fail on some occasions so you may have to retry - maybe you got unlucky first time around.

Regards Mick

Thank you! The front button Seiko is a favorite of mine. Condition is really good too.

Might I add that I truly feel that the survival rate of early digital watches is rather low, and that as a collectable there is great potential for the future as a worthy investment as well as enjoyment of such an early technology. javascript:emoticon('8-)')

One more picture to enjoy!

Nice Synchronar Greg 8-)
What mark is it? I can't tell from the photo but I bet some of the other forum members could :!:

Although it's not a dot matrix so that rules out some of the early stuff - I think.

Thank youjavascript:emoticon(':-D')

I think its a later one, Mark IV. Love it! Bank tellers want to know if its a wrist TV, or some sort of wrist phone.
