Got a neat vintage Seiko on the 'bay, have some questions

Post20 Jan 2010, 01:55

Looks to be a 0532-5010R (dial) or 0532-5019 (caseback).

S/N 692794 places it, I think, 1976 - the yyear I was born, which kinda attracted me to it.

Looks to be working and the price was right, depite my not typically being a LCD guy.

Aside from a few nicks that may polish out and some scratches on the mineral glass, it should clean up OK I think. The battery hatch *MIGHT* require replacement, at the very least I will have to tidy it up.

Problem is, I'm not sure which bracelet I need to look for. The seller says "it's almost 20mm". Anyone know if it takes a 20mm or a 19mm?

Are replacement mineral glass crystals still available anywhere? What about replacement battery hatches?

Looks like the right band Claven2. I love these early Seiko LC models. I have one 'coming home to pappa' after some repair work.
I'll be posting pics when it arrives. :-D

I have some O5** watches in the o-series section of my digitalwatchlibrary.com site. Its a great module and obviously like all the O-series Seikos really well made. There is a O532 on the site in gold and silver. It has a a bracelet very similar to the Sports 100 later early 80s models and not similar to any of the other O-series LC models from mid seveties. The number for the bracelet is also there.

Enjoy your new watch.
