citizen crystron revised

a nice customer brought this one

a citizen Crystron 40-2273 with box and papers

it need new glass but has a brandnew band..the costumer never used the band. I put new batt in and bingo. Thx mister.

the watch was in bad shape..he is a constructionworker.
and now at last i can do the perfect matt part of this watches...a diamond 320 grid plate.

check the nos one (oops Mint i mean ) on the left that i allready had and the right one cleaned + new glass...i'm very happy.
so now i got a one mint boxed and papers and another mint or revised or whatever you like to call it

Does this bracelet miss the capability to remove links? I came across some original Citizen bracelets the past years without the possibility to adjust length, and I believe this was one of those. I never understood the logic behind that..

Kasper you are doing some great work. Not just for yourself. It really is appreciated.

I'm not sure about the Citizens adjustment of bracelet. I think possibly they were sold with expanders built into the bracelet clasp, supposedly then there was no need to change the links. I have quite a few NOS watches like this

Is the blue bakground painted onto the back of the crystal ? It looks like it is.
If so, how did you apply it to the back of the crystal ?

indeed the bracelet have an extra adjustment piece (expander) so it doesn't need removable links.

No it's not painted in. I still am searching for a way to restore these when its painted or printed on the back of a glass. I'm pretty sure it's done thermic.
Still looking for a machine that can do that. I have a few idea's but still nothing usable.

idea's always welcome:-) I can always get scratches of a glass but thats makes the glass thinner and i don't want that.

Hello, where did you get the replacement glass for this Citizen 40 2273 ??

I.ve been looking around the internet for replacement glasses for Citizen, but i dont find them anywehere.

I also can't find numbers just like Seiko have withe their replacement glasses, so i dont know what number i have to search for.

Wow that's amazing work especially on the fabrication of your own glass replacement. I'd be interested to know how you got the mineral crystal material as well as cutting the glass with precision. Great work!

wow, thats something i also want to know how its done...

p.s. this week i made a Citizen dial of a 1977 Citizen LCD wich is glued on the glass.
I first printed the design, wich i recreated on the computer. Printed it on High Duty silver label, and then lasercutted it out.
I glued this with Hypocement to the glass with a nice result..
O yes, i removed the 'old' dial wich was ruined from the original glass..

I have cut some acryl glasses with a lasermachine, but the looks of real glass is always better..
