Shiojiri Ltd. was a subsidiary of the Seiko-Epson group until they got fully acquired by Seiko and their name was dropped in favor of a unified Seiko-Epson corporate identity. It was one of the places where digital modules were produced, in parallel with the Morioka and Hattori plants. Even if the modules were technically the same, each one was branded according to the production facility with either "Shiojiri", "Hattori" or "Morioka". Despite of the different names, they're interchangeable of course, and one can be used as spare parts for the other.
At a later time when Seiko acquired Orient and JEPIC, some production facilities were consolidated, but there are still a number of them to be found at the old company addresses, most interesting in this context are:
- The Orient facilities at 4-4, 2-Chome, Sotokanda, Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo -- The midrange and high-end analogue Orient Quartz movements are assembled here
- Morioka Seiko Instruments at 61-1, Itabashi, Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate-gun, Iwate -- This is the place where the Grand-Seiko watch movements are made
- Shiojiri production facility at 390 Shiojiri-cho, Shiojiri, Nagano 399-0796 -- The Seiko Spring Drive movements are coming from here
