My two F series Seikos.

Post23 Jan 2016, 00:20

Hello all. my first post.

I have recently discovered the pleasure in owning and wearing vintage lcd watches.
So far I seem to be drawn to small and simple designs such as Seiko's late 70s and early 80s F series 'dress' watches ( I like the subtle textured dials).

I have just two watches a F051-5020 and F033-5009 neither have been worn much and both still have I believe their original strap and buckles.

I've never personally liked large watches which is lucky as these two are quite small.
But I think they look fine on my skinny wrist. I'm now thinking what style of strap ( I prefer leather or rubber to steel) to match then with.

I have a couple of textured black Bonetto Cinturini rubber straps on order and also think a tapered strap in either Saffiano leather or textured pigskin in maybe mustard or mocca? would give them an interesting and more casual look.

Anyway here's a couple of pics.

Thanks for the welcome Kasper. Do you have a favorite Seiko 'series' # or do you collect them all!
Of my two. I do slightly prefer the F033 due to its larger size, a greater contrast in the display, but mostly because the dial changes color and hue in quite surprising ways .
On its plus side the F051 does have a light which the F033 doesn't.

the most beautiful seiko f-serie ever made is the Seiko f231-5000
in gold, black and red...red is most beautiful.

Have a look at Abe's site

here are a few others

Kasper that gold and red one on Abe's site is rather nice although I don't think I'd personally go for any gold ( or more specifically gold plated) watches but thats me.
But what I meant earlier was do you have a favourite lettered Sekio series ( A,B, C , D, F, G, H, M, O S, W ) or do you collect all equally?
