Speedmaster lcd 1620 crystal change?

Post29 Jan 2016, 23:05

Like to change the crystal some time in the future. Could i use a generic mineral crystal? A gasket is available from Cousinsuk. Does the inner part come out safely when i press the old crystal out? Or are there any special way to do it?

The graphic I think is printed to the glass, unless you can source an NOS crystal I would leave it where it is. They very rarely come up. There is one on Ebay at the moment but for a different model

My good that was not very cheap. I think i have seen the crystal for the 186.0004 on Cousinsuk? But it's costing as much as this . I actually have one speedmaster quartz like that also :-D The crystal for the 186.0004 was restricted :(
Thought the crystal and the inner dial was in two parts? This is my watch. The dial that is brass colored is that one part with the crystal? It doesn't look like the other crystal that is on Ebay?
