Seiko 0614-5000 06LC crystal part number

Post31 Oct 2016, 17:43

Hello all. Does anyone by any wild crazy stretch of the imagination know the Seiko part number for the glass for an 0614-5000 06LC?

Mine is pretty rough and I'd really like to find a replacement before I tidy up the case and get it back together.

Not sure of the number, but Kasper made me a replacement a few years ago, he may still have the template? Good luck.

Wow! Nice work Kaspar. Those look great.

Any chance you could let me know how the crystal is bonded to it's metal frame. I can't see a gasket or any glue on mine.

It is a type of glue or epoxy. I removed the glass before sending it to Kasper, breaking it while trying to remove it unfortunately. I sent the pieces to Kasper in clear sellotape, and he cut and beveled the new glasses.
The first one he cut was not so great, so he kindly cut me a second one, which was almost perfect.

Thanks - I had a feeling it was glued in but was hoping otherwise as it's going to be difficult to refix a crystal without air bubbles/discoloration visible glue etc. I'll have to worry about that when I come to it though :-)

There are a number of optically clear glues made for gluing in watch crystals- most common (and the one I use) is G-S Hypo Cement. Dries clear and easy to remove any overspill with a sharp scalpel (not an epoxy type so dries slightly flexible and easy to cut).
