Looking for Casio Ca-601G calculator watch information

Post12 Jan 2017, 08:15

Hello, I'm new to this forum and just came seeking information on my Casio ca-601G calculator watch. I came across this by accident at a local thrift shop along with a Seiko a158 -5059 and a Casio DW-210 (Both of which I have been able to find a ton of info on). All three watches are now working great, and needless to say I have laid my Casio ca-53w aside for the time being.

So does anyone have any information on the Ca-601g? I am curious about it's value, but due to my love for this watch it'll never be for sale.

Unfortunately I can't get this thing to allow me to post pictures, but I will keep trying. The attached links should work.

Please allow me to welcome You here on the newDWF forum and congratulations for Your purchase!
The Golden version of the 10 DIGIT Casio CA-601 calculator watch is quite rare, so it may appear rarely on Ebay, thus nobody can tell You exactly its actual market value/selling price, but it is for sure above 100 USD/EUR (being much rare and sought after than many other collectible Casio watches that are sold at this price regularly on Ebay).
On the other hand, I've presented my recently acquired Casio CA 601G on this forum on other topic (in the bottom posts of the topic) - so please see the link below :grin1:

If You need more information, please feel free to ask me or other more knowledgeable members of this nice forum...
Until then, You can see Your 1984 Golden CA601G calculator watch in a Casio catalogue from 1984, on Adam's excellent website digital-watch.com:

Thank you for your reply. I'm really very excited to hear of the rarity of this watch, but why exactly is this watch so rare? Really I'd love any information anyone can come up with.

The only information I have ever read is the 600s were only produced for a year, they werethe upgraded to the 610 and four screwback retainers were added instead of two. The two were a flaw and failed quite easily. The gold is rarer than the silver just because less were made and the plated Casios if well used are not known for their longevity.
