0614 and the Seiko Brightz comparison picture

Post03 Apr 2017, 23:23

For comparison:

Unfortunately the 0614 display is very faint unless placed in a refrigerator and cooled. The case is in phenomenal condition and the price was right for a non functioning beater, so not unhappy with the 0614 at all. If I can secure a functional room temperature LCD panel (not likely) or work on getting some sample replacements created (Neil :?: :call: less unlikely but still) then this would be a very primo example of the 0614.

So here they both are, the 0614 a little chilled:

Both very nice. I hope the SDGA005 display lasts better than the 0614 - they were both quite new technology in their day.

I am happy with 0614 as I wasn't expecting it work at all.

Of course the question is: does anyone have a spare panel working?

I see I haven't switched the Brightz to DST.

From what I have read (source?) the Brightz three button front piece was a homage to the 06lc/0614.
