Seiko 0614 5000 Low Contrast Fix

Post14 Nov 2020, 18:42

Is anyone aware of resolving a low contrast Seiko 0614 5000 display by doubling the voltage by adding two battery cells (I believe two 381 cells) in series. I have heard that it resolved the low contrast issues however I'm not sure if the logic circuits is robust enough to handle twice the standard voltage.

Hi with most LCD watches over time the up converter capacitors may need replacing but before you down that route I test the lcd contrast with some polarising film as they can need replacing too hope that helps

Thanks for the suggestion. I may try testing out a new polarizing filter.
