Puma Sirius 15A

Post27 Jan 2006, 01:08

I like the design of the Puma Sirius 15A (apart from the Puma logo perhaps).
Anbody got one? How's the quality?
Case and band are made of aluminium (anodized), a bit susceptible to scratches I guess.
Some picture links (online shops, I didn't find anything else, not even on the Puma site):

I don't mind the Puma logo so much. I think a case that size, with a fairly small display by comparrison, needs something. What colour is the display?

Looks like white digits on black background, standard inverted LCD. It has a backlight, don't know of what colour.

Kateshitikino: That Puma IS kinda sharp! Yeah, I went looking too and all the sites were in Deutch(German). I understand a little because my mother is from Germany, but I'm thinking I'll log on when I am visiting her, and have her translate for me on the spot.

the style of this watch reminds me of LED watch design. Overall it is a nice design and they saved money using an LCD module over the LED.

You might want to give babelfish a go. It's not perfect for translating, but I find it helps.

Well, I couldn't resist and ordered one.
I like it :D
The display is black with MIRRORED segments, this is, active segments are reflective - actual contrast depends on what they reflect. Very nice.
Quality: it's not a Ventura, but ok for the money. Because it's made of aluminium, it's light despite the very massive strap. The anodized aluminium makes it look quite different from stainless steel or chrome, it looks more like - ah - well, anodized aluminium
The 2 buttons are a bit misaligned on my example.
The EL backlight has poor contrast because the background lights up in bluish green, whereas the segments light up in greenish blue, so the difference is only in color, not brightness. Anyway, it's legible.

Features:
- 12hr time display (bothers me a bit, I prefer 24h)
- date (mm.dd)
- seconds
- EL backlight (see above)
- case and strap are made of anodized aluminium
- caseback stainless steel
- butterfly clasp (double-folding)
- removeable links
- case size: 37mm x 37mm x 9mm
- battery type: yet unknown (not documented in the manual)

It's also available in gold and pink (that one is rather for the ladies I think  )

@little1up: hope this is enough information so you needn't bother your mother
