Nixie Tube Watch Pictures

Post06 Nov 2008, 01:47

The pictures of my newly acquired Nixie watch as promised.

1 & 2. Front view (please excuse the finger print on the glass)

3. Front view with glass removed.

4. On the wrist displaying time (minutes.)

5. Back case.

6. Size comparison: Pulsar Big time along side Nixie Feckin' Big Time.

7. Size comparison Pulsar Big time & Pulsar Sport either size of the Nixie watch.

8. Side view (on the wrist.)

9. Close up of PCB.

10. On the wrist shot.

The display luminates on the turn of the wrist, displays hours followed by minutes and finally seconds.

Can be set to display time in either 12 or 24 hour formats.

Comments and questions welcome.

Yes only 2 digits - Looking at the size of the watch with just two tubes I think it was just too much to try and squeeze four into that particular style, although I did see the Nixie watch made by Jeff Thomas which had four tubes displaying the digits end on.

The display flashes hours then minutes and seconds so it still quite practical for telling the time with IMHO.

It is easy to read the time and only takes moments to get used to.

At the flick of your wrist it flashes the hour for 1 sec, followed by the minutes.

I always have trouble with what angle to hold mine to get the running seconds :) Can't make it happen every time.
