MINI Motion watch designed by Yves Behar

Post15 Aug 2004, 11:23

For a moment (5 days long) I've been thinking my collection of modern design LCDs was complete
Then, I discoverd this:

"One of the unique features of this watch is the 'rotating' display that allows to flip the display 90 degrees for better viewing while motoring."
Does anybody know more about this watch? Any experiences with it? Is that band comfortable to wear? Quality?
I'm really tempted to order one.

Wow, that?s really a stylish one...

Never saw it before. I?m not sure if the band feels comfortable, it looks quite solid...

I've wanted one for awhile.
MOMA carries it, but they've been sold out of these forever.

I like it a LOT!...

Reminds me a bit of the Seiko? Final Fantasy watch... Another nice one.

What is the price of the Mini?

Now, finally, I managed to get one (mint, unworn, boxed, instructions, only 40GBP :D).
Quality is perfect, very well made.
I'm absolutely excited about that band: it fits my wrist perfectly (and also some others that have tried it). It is easy to put on and off, but still no danger of loosing it. Because it's basically an elastic steel spring (covered with soft silicone rubber), it always keeps perfect tension, neither slack nor tight, no matter how you bend and turn your wrist (or loose and gain weight  ).
It doesn't pull hairs
Very comfortable.
A bright idea

Oh yes, the features:
- alarm (more or less inaudible)
- countdown timer
- stopwatch (10 lap memory - mind you, it's a car accessory  )
- 2nd time zone
- water resist 30m
- backlight (bluish green) - it's a little annoying that the light turns on only after pressing the button for 2 seconds (double function button, it also switches between the different display modes).

That is one of the modern designs i've been keen on too. A similar wristband concept, although with old fashioned plastic, was used in some 60's & 70's watches (saw a couple on 'watchismo'), but this takes the idea up to the modern age. At ?40, sounds like you got yourself a bargain kateshitikano.
