Mega 1000 leather strap

My strap has finally disintegrated after nearly 3 years of constant use. Any tips on getting a new strap? Is it a standard size and type or do I need to go to Junghans?

It seems that http://www.jonvincent.co.uk is the best bet here.
They are quoting me £25 for a strap I can fit myself.

I'd get an original Junghans strap.
Depending on where you live, there are some watch sites where you can order them.
The original strap is made to follow exactly the curves of the case, a standard strap will never fit properly unless you do some cutting and/or sewing.

But because you'll face this problem again in 3 years I'd go for a steel bracelet anyway

There are Junghans Mega straps all over Ebay. Not sure if they all suit the Mega1000 though. This one does:

The strap mentioned above is for the Mega 1000.

Jon Vincent ordered the strap for me from Germany, and all in it was £27.50. Took about 15 days and I fitted it myself in 2 mins.

I didn't see a metal option, but I really don't like them so will try to take care of this one better.

Nice to have a watch again after many months of nothing!
