Nothing ´substandard´ about it and less so for 800$.
The Ventura one ís better. Period. But then the Vtec Sigma replacement bracelet costs almost 500$.

... or 335€, but is Durinox hardened steel, scratch resistant, much better than normal stainless steel.

No doubt about it.
It is a good example of extra quality of manufacture and the law of deminishing returns.
Still not nearly expensive as 2K for a DeepSea bracelet and at least as well made which brings the point of ´the other topic´ ;-) home; you get a discount on the price of quality when there is an electronic digital inside :-D ; price is largely directly cost related

I wonder if the Rolex forum people are already discussing this thread and LTAO M:)W:)M because a digital watch can of course never be as good as a Rolex in any regard. Or do they just ignore us?

No, they get personally insulting.
Just goes to show ´class´ M:)W:)M

p.s.
´Durinox is superior to regular steel whereby the metal is nitrogen hardened to 1,300 HV, which is equivalent to the hardness of sapphire which renders the steel to be scratch resistant.´

: The new Seiko EPD ´homage´

I see I forgot to update a piece of infor I had been looking for:

I díd find the why of ´06 dec´ which already appeared on the very first illustration of the first mock up proposal.

On 6 dec 1896 D T Suzuki found the awakening at Engakuji temple, in Kamakura. An ´awakening´ in Zen and Shin buddhism.

The EPD is the awakening of the 21st C. digital watch for Seiko.
The 0o serial of the first production run is no doubt symbolic too, both for the Zen and the new beginning of it..

Too much symbolism and spirituality for me - it's only a watch ;-)

That is good news - the EPD is continuing to be produced, even if in small numbers. If the people at Seiko really believe that EPD is the wave of the future, then it is reasonable to expect more models coming out soon.
