Although ´e-ink´ as a concept is thought of and a company set up to develop at the end of the 1990ties, the actual product is a 21st century thing.
It is só easy to forget so here a concise history illustrated:
Seiko is the first to introduce a wristwatch with it in 2005
which goes into production as
In 2006 the new design gets the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève
and is released in 2007
The first thing we see of a ´proper´watch is

On the 10 nov 2010 GrandSeiko event in NYC the case design was sorted but the exposed model still has the Basel exposition module
and on Monday 06 December the Japanese ADs receive
