Seiko epd quantities ?

I know that the new seikos are show piece , engineering excellence. Will we see more , cheaper versions? Or will it end here?They are , i believe limited editions, meaning what?
Limited to production within a set time ? Or to set numbers? Are the serial numbers an indication?

Based on serial numbers there has been only óne production run in Oktober 2010 of less than 2000, possibly 1500.

What Seiko will do is anybodies´ guess.
They have a long history of one run only first models in a new technology.
The first hand wind example of kinetic technology was notable as was the ditto first sring drive.
There are notable examples too of trial runs of new technology that did not get a follow up. The electro-plating ´lcd´ and the thermic being two.

Whatever, however; there will always be only óne 0o-run of Seiko EPD
