Michael Young

Post03 Feb 2012, 23:40

i'm looking to buy a watch from the Michael young collection. I love the minimalistic style of the watch.

But he made several watches first was The pxr-5 model(2005)..then pxr-6 and the 7 and the latest are model pxr-8

pxr-6 is the same as pxr-5 only better...better water resistent, better background light etc.
pxr-7 is the same as 6 only theu made them bigger with bigger digits and put some lines in the faceplate.
Pxr-8 is just a whole other watch for me..so this one is out of the question.

but i still can not decide between the pxr-6 and 7 .
i like the 6 for its minimalistic and fine faceplate and the digits are in proportions with the case.
i like the 7 for it's lines in the face and it's golden digits..but i think it's to big and the bigger digits are not in proportions with the case.

What do you prefer?

If i'm not mistaken..it's only a yellow goldisch background under the lcd to get these golden digits.

Aesthetically I prefer the Pxr-6...

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Kasper,

I'll be interested to hear your impressions since I've been curious about these Michael Young PXR watches for some time. I probably like the PXR-7 the best of the series, the PXR-5 / 6 a close second and the PXR-8 last.

I'm looking forward to a complete report!

I have an almost never worn PXR-5 in original box with 2 straps (blue and black) - and I'd even sell it ;-)
Purchased 03/2006 for incredible 65GBP - way too expensive by hindsight.

No, I don't know about the others, somehow lost interest. I was a bit disappointed with the PXR-5. No light, no 24h, and I felt it never looked "right" on my wrist. Wore it maybe 5 times.
No photos, but it looks exactly like the PXR-6. Crome, not Gold.
