Insight/info Alba AKA w670-4000

Post06 Jul 2020, 17:07

Hi! I bought this watch last year. I'd seen it sold as a Spoon and knew it had also been marketed with Seiko's own branding. But I'm not sure the Alba version was sold outside Japan. I was showing off my DSM watch to the vintage digital watch group on facebook and a user commented on this which was visible in my box. He said it was a rare example/serial no.
Are they worth hanging onto? Anyone know much about them? It's huge and heavy, but I love the retro Battlestar Galactica look of it.

I would hang on to it, you can never have too many watches and I think it's a really unique design! How does the display look when enabled? I recently found an old fossil that my friend gave me for my birthday and it was in horrible shape some surface corrosion grew on it even though I kept it well. I refinished the case and installed new batteries, it required two batteries, one for the quartz time and the other for the Asian characters that changes in the background.

That looks excellent! There was definitely a design overlap with the funky Fossil, Majestyk and these Seiko models. Good, confident late 90s styling.

The display is a pseudo-led, back-lit LCD, but it's bright and pin-sharp.

Cool, I'd say that's a keeper!
