Star Wars LED watch

Hi, this is Marco from Italy, new here

I owned two LED watches in my youth but I have no longer worn a watch since I was 15 years old... except for some X-Mas gift watches given by gfs...
Like this one (that is another 80's watch )

Well, some time ago, while I was clearing my mother's cellar, I found my first LED calculator

and my first LED handheld videogame

but NO LED wristwatches...

SO I decided to catch one from the bay (we use to call it this way ) and I purchased a Texas Instruments "Star Wars", Dark-Side model.
The seller told me it needs batteries but we both are not sure about the *exact* model/type.

I know some TI are hungry of energy, but it doesn't matter for me...
I really wanted that watch, and for only 24€ (shipping from US included) I think it may have been a good deal, even if it lacks of batteries, box and manual...

Is there anyone who have the same watch or knows anything about it and maybe could help ?

Hi. Nice watch (good price, too). The TI Star Wars watches have an attractive look, bright displays, retro style case graphics and are quite light and comfortable to wear. I like the way the "1977" date is labelled right on the front of the watch case under the display in tiny numerals.

They require two 386 batteries. The thicker 357 batteries won't fit because the TI watches have relatively small, thin cases.

And, of course, today I'm goin' to get 2 "386" (hehe, maybe I have somewhere an Intel 386... but it won't fit into the TI and would not have the same function ), so when the SW watch will arrive to me I can try it immediatley !

Hi Marco.
I recently got a Star Wars TI LED watch too. It still has the set of stickers that can be applied to the front to change the 'look'.
The printed graphics are C3PO and R2D2 above the display and Darth Vader underneath.

Just to be anal, your calculator is VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display), not LED.

Heh, I prefer this "Dark-side" edition of the TI SW watch than the other "Force-side" one ;)
