Seiko automatic question.

Post08 Sep 2012, 21:31

[color=#40BFBF]I got this Seiko the other day for very cheap. I never had an Automatic watch before
the watch worked right away and the crude lines of the watch really stand out.
my problem is how to keep the crown from unscrewing from the steem, it seems that
when adjusting the date and turning counterclock-wise it easily comes off.
I thought about putting some locking compund but I think there is another way.
Please help.

that will work. the tiniest drop on the threads and screw it back on. the only other way is to open the case and remove the stem and tighten with small pliers. if you do this make sure you hold the stem by the exposed threads, otherwise you take a chance of breaking it. also, you cannot wind a seiko automatic manually. you need to wear it. peter

Thanks Peter, I will do that. I was afraid to wear the watch and then get the crown lost.
