I finally had to change the batteries in my Compu Chron the other day, and I figured since I had to take it apart, that would be a perfect time to clean the case, band, etc.
I removed the module and cleaned everything that was clean-able, and dried it completely with compressed air.
I put the module back in, installed new batteries, and popped the cover back on. Pressed the time button and it lit up, but when I went to set it, every time I went to hold the button down to advance the time, the display would just blank out. After messing around with it a while, I found that if I pressed the date button at the same time, then the setting would advance. Let the date button go, and it'd just go blank again.
I took everything all apart once again, this time carefully inspecting everything, and saw nothing wrong. Reassembled it, and then it worked perfectly.
What happened??!? What did I do wrong the first time?
