restoring Casio C-701 and C-801 : buttons not responding

This is another project I'm working on.
I have purchased a lot containing three modules, two C-701 and one C-801
all of them non working and in very bad conditions.

So fa,r I have brought back to life two modules, but still I have the following problems :

On the modules :

the module works bit other then the light (most upper left switch) I cannot get
any function to change. When I push the metal contacts nothing happens, only
the light button works. Since some watches (like Texas Instruments) need
to have the module in the case, I have also put the module back, but nothing.

Since both modules behave in the same way, I believe I'm missing something
quite trivial on both. Contacts are very clean, and I'm sure that by pushing the levers
toward the module the contacts gets in touch. Has ever happened to someone ?

On the glasses :

Normally the glass and the legend do not get separeted, but with these modules has
happened. Is this normal ? Does anyone know a good source for some spare glasses ??

On the cases :

Casio's cases are very different from Seiko's one. On all the Casio I have worked on, the back of
the cases tends to deteriorate quite badly. Again, is there any way to recover these or, since are
made of plastic there is no way ?

This is really weird ...

Two modules working, but none of the buttons are ...

I have also tried to bring the + voltage to the contacts,
since this is what happen when the button is pressed, but nothing.

There is no way to change from date, to calc, to calendar ...

Has it ever happened to someone ??
