LCD Broken or repairable ? (0624)

Post18 Jun 2012, 09:29

ciao a tutti,
I'm restoring a Seiko 0624 and by doing so, I have purchased a NOS
module and lcd.

The module works fine, including the light, but when I have opended up the lcd
that was still in a sealed bag, this is what I have found out ....

It has no cracks or visible damage, but it is obviously not working.
Is it just too old and suffered from the age, or it has some sort of
polarizing problem ?

Actually I have moved the LCD from an old 0644 that I was working on,
but I'm looking for a replacement.

I'm also looking for a replacement for the bracelet, since the one that came with the
0624 is not the original one.

As always, any hint or suggestion will be appreciated,
Alberto
