Hamilton module differences

Post16 Dec 2012, 13:41

ciao a tutti, I have a question for tha Hamilton fans, and may be of general interest.
These two where purchased recently, the gold was claimed non working but once ghanged the batteries
it started to work. The stainless was working although full of scratches (I'm begining to clean the case now)
and without the bracelet.

To me, these are identical and I would say that are Hamilton QED Frontier.

However, this is the stainless, it has the DOW and is not "dotted", which I prefer by the way

and this is the godl filled, which does not have the DOW but only hour, minutes, seconds and month-day

Also, looking at the display, the digits are in a "upper" position compared to the other Hamilton.

Which one is original ?
thanks for help, Alberto

I suspect both modules were used, I have this model in both stainless steel and gold filled one of which uses uses the line segment module the other the dot display.

I also have the gold filled Hamilton you show in your photo mine also uses the dot display.

It is back to the line segment display with the model with the intergrated band.

thank you very much, very nice pictures !

I'd like to polish the case, can the stainless be sandpapered like the seikos
or is brass chrome plated ?

also, I would like to remove the glass for better polishing the case without
the reisk of damaging the "hamilton" lettering which is good in both cases.

Is the glass glued and difficult to remove ?

Thank you very much for any help,
Alberto
