Other than the cool, early-tech aspect, it seems the Optel modules have not stood the test of time very well. And the little 26mm Optel LED movements seem to have even a lower survival rate. just got a Quartzmatic DSM - it works but is finicky. Has meltdown in the middle of setting.

Patrick,
Two losses in one week, my Optel Segtronic died for good and I just found my Seth Thomas having a stroke, but there was nothing I could do about it, it is also gone for good :eek:

These watches are very temperamental, one day they are working good and next "belly up" :scratch:
