Replacement cells for the XR11630W and XR9527W Seiko solar

Post21 Mar 2014, 22:20

Hey guys,

Every once in a while I stumble upon a solar powered Seiko, or Citizen.
I have a load of new old stock Maxell XR11630W and XR9527W cells (original to the Seiko's), but these are more or less dead after all these years..

I found a great replacement id like to share with you for the XR11630W; the Varta MBU20 NiMH cell. Its 1,2V, hasn't been tested in a Seiko yet, but I assume it will work fine.

Right now I am looking for a NiMH replacement for the XR9527W, (395/399 format). If you guys figured out a correct replament cell for this one im more then happy to hear it..!

Thanks

this weekend i scored a Seiko A159-5000 Solar.

I ordered a NiMH 1.2 V 15 mAh Varta V15 battery. I hope it will work on this one

I dont know , but maybe you could try an panasonic MT920 ? i use this capacator for many Kinteic Seiko watches. On my 7L22 it keeps up energy for 5 months after not wearing.... maybe too small. butt better too small then to big. With a smaller battery you can always 'fill up the gap'

my idea with filling up a gap of a smaller battery... just lasercut a rightsize and cut out a whole as big as the smaller one :-P

Didnt the low battery indicator flash on tha A156 because of the 1.2V rather than 1.55V? I am testing at the moment still only one days charging but still flashing.
