Looks really excellent what you did with it!

But I wouldn't call this a "restoration" because the watch looks significantly different now (shape of case changed).

Well spotted Rewolf - I didn't even notice on first viewing. I just thought it looked nice and fresh.
How did he manage to fill in the ruts to change the shape of the case?
I take it the later pictures are part of the chrome plating process.
Very impressive stuff all the same!!!!

Not fill in, but grind away, pictures 2..6.
But it looks much better without the ruts.

I agree - the 'new' case looks better.

thanks all!!! :-D

Thank you for taking the time to show your work(and your hands at work Smile ) .

This is not a my hand ,its the worker who chrome for me cases, its the very easy job, the hard job is prepare case for chrome plated and its a my job.

I decide to change shape of the case because I find its prettier like this.

I think Iggy has formed the basis for a new forum topic under mechanicals:
"Pimp My Ticker"
People have been customizing mechanicals for as long as they've been made; although, reshaping the case is a bit extreme. But the logical choice if you wanted to make a different watch and didn't want to have to make the case, fit stems/buttons. I was so busy watching the finish and amused by the "hands on" shot that I didn't even process the line disappearing(brain fart). Good catch ReWolf.....that highly lauded German "eye for detail". :-)

And in addition, he made the very first (non-admin) posting here.

You were amused by the yellow spot on his right middle finger, true? ;-)

At this very moment (21:30) I see it rather as a curse than a virtue, as it makes me do a design review of an electronic device comprised of about 1000 parts (including three 32-bit microprocessors, Ethernet controller, 800x600 TFT, etc.) and almost every schematic sheet (of 35) is covered with red ink... The colleague who thought the design was finished will feel a bit disappointed tomorrow morning. I hate being a pedant ;-)

:-D Im glad you like how I pimp my mecha-digi watch, but i dont like to change shape, only if I think the new shape is better than previous, exactly this is the first watch in my collection with changed shape (I have 84 watches)
In future I pictured every restoration (pimp) and share with you. 8-)

nice to see that there's another digi watch nut in the Eastern Block :)
one note from a purist ;) I would improve the parallel satining strokes on the case.
I have improved my restoration process in the last few years by introducing some devices for example an engine driven abrasive belt just like the ones used in factories. parallel strokes in a blitz.
