push button contacts

Post28 Dec 2012, 07:21

Does anyone know what material is normally used to make the spring contacts that the push button presses against? I would like to buy some of that, a flat piece about 2.5mm wide, 0.25mm thick and length doesn't matter (say 1 meter or so)

Any advice on this?

I thought it might have been phosphor-bronze.

Do you know where to buy a thin sheet or flat wire beryllium copper?

Beryllium-Copper/Phosphor-Bronze same thing according to Wikipedia. Here's one place you can buy thin sheets.

http://www.micromark.com/phosphor-bronz ... ,8335.html

Try Google to find other sources for both wire and sheet.
