Pulsar p3 ss strap repair

Post15 May 2013, 11:52

I love this watch but really shouldn't wear it sigh...

I've popped a link outwards and its the first joint away from the case. I can't see any way to get at it to repair it.. its not completely out, just half hanging in.

Bracelet is stainless steel hollow link lobster shell type.

Is it repairable or should I look for a new one on ebay....

Thanks John

It's clear you have a stretched bracelet...a failing of the hollow-link type. Lighter, but much more delicate and less flexible. The solid-gold models are particularly susceptable to this. You might be able to work the tongue of the one link back inside the other, but the basic problem would still be there; in all probability, it would just happen again. This will have to be be completely disassembled, and the links re-shaped to return them to their original form and fit. It's not that difficult, but very time-consuming, and you have to know what to bend, and how much. You might even have to add a link, since the tightening process always shortens the bracelet a bit, depending on how badly they were stretched.
