This is how my watch looked when i bought it ..... (image taken from net)

I then detached the tiny rotors (segments)

Then placed them on some sticky tape

I bought some paint

and micro brushes from ebay.

then applied a first coat of paint. By the way, I am not an expert, this is my first watch mod and i don't even have proper tools.(i.e. forgive my messy work)

here is the third coating:

Then spent hours unsuccessfully trying to replace rotors. They did not stay in place becuase they are magnetic and attract each other.

Then managed to do it by keeping on a tin. The metal in the tin kept the rotors in place. I had to use plastic forceps.

Here is the mechanism using electromagnets to turn rotors.

Finally rotors are safely in module.

Here is the final watch. looks really great. I have no experience with watches. If one of you pros did it, it would have had a much greater finish. This is just a proof of concept. It looks really great. If phosphor decides to make this, I think it would sell very well.

Many thanks. I almost feel embarrassed as I have used the crudest possible tools to achieve the effect ! Not even proper tweezers or eye sight.
Phosphor has a Facebook page and I wrote to them. Apparently they might work on this design of watch. The phosphor mechanism is truly unique, but many people find it have too much bling ...

I did not have the courage to remove the crystals before painting. The rotors are made of plastic, and i thought a solvent that dissolves glue might have also dissolved the plastic.

Also the rotors have a small magnet glued on the side. I was scared the solvent would dissolve the glue holding the magnet.

not sure if you are the guy that posted the questions on Phosphors facebook wall, I replied but don't have a clue if you ever got to see them.
you are fully right that these would sell very well if the rotors would be painted in a contrast color (yellow or green Luminova) instead of bling crystals.
I would certainly buy a large square Phosphor with this kind of display. before that happens I certainly have a Luminova mod on my to-do list with crystals removed. I would dremel them away to some extent or use a scalpel as they are fitted with some sort of jewelers glue.

Luminova? Isn't that a fancy word for glow in the dark paint?
Now there is a mod i'd fancy.

Luminova-mod....sounds cool to me :)
it is very good and some makers even make this brighter than the original.
It practically does not need any light to glow in the dark as it also "stores" the light for a long time.
