How to not have connection pins bend on 0634, 0674 etc etc

Post21 Oct 2013, 16:04

Today im fixing a 0634 by replacing the display and the adjust/crown-pusher switch (thanks Simone!)

You guys probably know that its kind of delicate to place the plastic lcd panel holder back in place without bending the connection pins

I came up with an idea some time ago (after having learned the hard way by bending pins) and as I just placed that plastic holder I decided to make a quick picture and make this a topic

Its simple: cut a piece of regular A4 paper in a strip with the width of the pin line-up. Place the paper behind the pins on both sides. Now you can press the plastic holder in place without any trouble and simply pull back the paper once you have it in place.
