Jean Perret ESA 942711

Post05 Jan 2014, 05:36

I received a lot of vintage lcd's and this is one of them. It needed some minimal cleaning. The watch is practically nos, its still having its sale/price tag on the case back

I like the watch for its movement; I don't have many 'swiss made' lcd watches with ESA movements. Nevertheless, I think these movements are inferior to the Japanese brothers of those days as far as features and build is concerned.

This movement is made in -approximately- 1976/1977 and is featuring time, date and a 1/100 chronograph. It does have a great light scattering transparent back panel (better then the Japanese brothers) and also a nice silver lined structure, I love that in this watch.

A stayer for the time being :-)

Yes, I agree. The lights in these ESA modules are excellent. It gets distributed very evenly across the panel.
The Omega LCDs also have an excellent backlight.

Lovely looking watch, very similar to an Omega imo. I must admit, i've never heard of Jean Perret but a quick google reveals they've been around since 1893 and are still going. I never cease to be amazed at the number of watch companies that exist
