Orient first touch led watch 1976

Post01 Dec 2014, 00:06

I wanted this one for so long.
Worlds first touch control led watch..1976. Just touch the case and see the hour.

I scored one a month ago but the module was shot. And after some member pointed me to a "need new batt" case only on the bay ..i gambled and won. :-D thx friend.

enjoy..she is looking just fab :-D after a nice cleanup

I used to tease the kids with this watch when they were younger, they could not work out why when I was wearing the watch the time would display when I touched the front of the case but nothing would happen when they touched the front of the case - the reason of course was that Dad had magic fingers! :grin1:

I did the same with the patients at my work. Then I said "touch my arm and touch the watch again". Very surprised faces when the watch suddenly worked :)

I am curious now can I ask what work you do? Tell me to bugger off if I am being too nosy.

Congratulations Kasper!

This is an especially nice find after learning of your disappointment with the last Orient Touch Command. These watches are reputed to have been made by Citizen and to be of high quality.

1976 was a golden year for line segment display LEDs. There were so many excellent designs to choose from and pretty much all of them incorporated a date function. Collecting the vintage LEDs, however, is quite addicting.
