And this illustrated the origins of the charging bit:

The drumlike (looking like a viscous coupling of a car fan) part driving the micro generator (grey) is the difference with the Seiko Kinetic.
Ventura took this rotor module and made it stand alone. All that was left to do, was to wire it up to the rechargeable battery of the electronic watch part.

Interesting video, i love the watch looks stunning, and the guys glasses in the video. Bit like Harold Lloyd meets Buzz lightyear..
